I loved this article and the photo itself got me anxious to try new recipes. I have a few questions. On the Garlic Knots, 3/4 C water is not enough. Should it be 1 3/4 C water to the 5 C flour? And how long should I knead- just til blended or until elastic consistency? I search your site for the biscotti recipe shown in the picture, but no luck. Any chance you'll share it? Thank you for the wonderful read and mouth watering recipes.

You have probably been asked this already but, why do you show Fair Bluff being associated with Robeson County? Is in not in Columbus County?

Nothing quite as much fun as celebrating America's Favorite Vegetable. I teach The Humble Spud at Paul Smith's College. This is the only 3-credit hour undergraduate college course devoted to the potato in North America.

I was walking with my son on the bike trails in Crowfield Plantation in Goose Creek, SC and we saw two of them tonight. It was so neat as i have never seen one before but they looked exactly like this and i even got the chance to snap a few pictures on my phone. Great article. :)

I am the county liaison for Bertie County Farm Bureau Federation. I have been in this job now for over 7 years. I was clueless to the impact the county Farm Bureaus have on their communities. I work with the most gracious, concerned and hard working men and women I know on our Board of Directors. When the tornadoes came through our county in April they jumped right into action. They saw a need and made sure people in the community had a safe place to keep what little belongings they had left, with the Container Relief Program. Through the help of other counties our county farm bureau was able to be there when the need came up. They are so willing to help out with needs in the schools and organizations throughout the community. The monatary donations; without even a blink of an eye, as well as their time, has made me so proud to be a tiny party of this awesome group of people. Thank you to the Bertie County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for allowing me to be a part of this experience. Connie Smithwick, Bertie County Farm Bureau County Liaison.

He's back! :) We first saw our white squirrel last December. To our delight he appeared on our patio again today looking very healthy.
