As the days grow shorter and a light chill enters the night air, the forest around us begins to change color from the lush greens of summer to the alluring warm palette of fall. The mountains of Western North Carolina are host to some of the most dramatic fall views. A cruise down the Blue Ridge Parkway or a hike in the mountains yields a seemingly never-ending sea of yellow, orange and red leaves. It won’t be long until it’s time to rake the leaves into piles and prepare for winter.
