The best time to look for this thing would be in the winter with snow on the ground. The leaves would be gone and the snow would allow things to show up at night even in the deepest woods.

It does seem like someone would hit one with their car or shoot one of these things over the years. People have hit and shot everything else, so I remain suspicious of these stories.

dear Billy, you are not alone,i have never spoken of this to anyone before.i live in the Asheville,n.c. area. i have hunted and fished in madison and other counties around here since i was a small child. although i have never laid eyes on this creature, make no mistake about it, he is very real.!!! i have had over the course of my life, fishing the french broad river, not one ,but several encounters with this creature.the first was in an area around a place called stack house when i was a young man. we were camping on the river and fishing when it came to visit late one night. and he made his self known by rock throwing, growling, and the worst smell i have ever smelled in my 54 years of life. although everyone in the camp was armed, no one was quick to challenge it,although we all knew it was there. we never spoke of it again.then several years later, about a mile up river from the town of hot springs,n.c. which is very close to the first run in,we were fishing a stretch of river known as deep water trussel. again late at night it came calling, this time it seemed to be upset about something,as it threw rocks at us for about 20 minutes from a high cliff covered with trees that we were camped at. finally it seemed to be gone as quickly and quietly as it had came.i can tell you this, this creature is not dumb,by any means.these are not the only run ins i have had with this un friendly beast, but i will save them for another time. all of which have happened along the french broad river between asheville and hot springs.i cannot help but wonder if they live here all the time,or just pass through on thier way from one place to vanother. in any event,do not think you are alone in your run in with this creature in madison county.i can assure you ,you are not.

I had rocks thrown at me, was followed to my car and heard growls while deer hunting in Madison Co. in a very remote part of the Pisgah NF back in the early 80s. It is a very unnerving experience, to this day I wont go back there to that area hunting.

I live in Richmond County, NC. There is a large remote unpopulated area in the northern portion near the Montgomery County line with many acres of hilly, swampy, forested land. I use to catfish along the banks of Mountain Creek a few years back. One evening about dusk, I came across a good number of fresh tracks that were 18" long coming down a path into the water and back out again. I followed these tracks to as far as I could go were they went up a steep embankment to overgrown for me. As I stood there, I could hear low grunting and heavy breathing. All the normal sounds: crickets, owls, etc. were silent. There was a terrible stench in the air. It was so unnerving that I left the spot and hiked out to the car and left. I have lived here all my life and have heard of hunters and backwoodsmen speak of screams in the woods. My father, now in his years was camped along the creek one night. As he sat on a stump fishing, he notice a reflection of something pass behind him. Turning to see what it was, he only caught a glimpse of a large something moving extremely fast but making hardly a sound. Spooked, he packed up and left. Mountain Creek is off Grassy Island Road just south of Hwy. 73 west of Ellerbe. These events all occurred at dark. There is a boat landing there where I usually park and walk up the creek. Call knocking has worked on two occasions. One time I actually received a scream in response to hollering. Anyway, its there and what I tell you is true.

I have experienced the ole "throwing rock treatment here in Alamance County. I, amongf riends were in a remote wooded area, inside a trailer on the outskirts of a farm where livestock, fish and water may have been easily accessed by such a creature. I whole heartedley believe that they are alive and well. I also have reviewed the Lloyd Pye expo and I would like to say it is a must see for anyone who has such interest in Sasuatch, bigfoot/yeti.

Many people are non-believers of Bigfoot, until they come across one and are scared s_____less! The best way to run across a Bigfoot is to not go hunting for him (one). He will come to you. But you must be in an area where sightings and sounds have been widely reported. The best time to experience a Bigfoot sighting/sounds is at night, in a desolate/remote area. I have had two incidents which I believe were related to Bigfoot in the same general area of central Utah. My ex-husband actually saw something and then we heard something at a different time but in the same area. Believe me, it's scary!

There's a lecture i found on google video by a researcher named Lloyd Pye that explains this phenomenon in great detail and gives it much credibility. I suggest anyone check it out if this subject interests them. It's called "Everything You Know is Wrong" and he gives a good insight to evolution theory as well.

He is not the only one.And he's right to tell us about bfro.net.They are the best group in America that deals with the bigfoot phenomena. There are other things that exist in NC that arent supposed to be there, but they are.Mountain Lions(cougar,puma,catamount--all the same species, different names for them) are seen across the state, several times a year. I KNOW they live in the mountains,I've sen them. And these are known animals and science wont acknowledge their existence in the state, much less a sasquatch.A woman who I talked to who claimed to see one one night asked me how they(mainsteam science) can "miss something this big." She said the shoulders on this thing were "very wide,I mean WIDE." She said she thought at first that it was a "pile of leaves that all the sudden stood up...and up and up,and walked away" She was very shaken up.This is in and around the piedmont are. I live in Rockwell and I would love to talk to Mr.Greene. If he wishes,he may e-mail me.As well as Mr. Logan Taylor.
